Thirty years ago many of us watched the television horrified at what was going on in LA as Rodney King, a black man, was beaten unconscious by police. The ensuing chaos promised to be a harbinger of change, or so America thought. Today, after the latest death of George Floyd at the hands of police, we find ourselves literally having made no progress as a country with the divisive issue of race relations and again we are seeing protests, riots, looting, and civil unrest. Every decent person should feel a sense of outrage, much less every Black American or frankly any person of color. No matter what your color, your struggle is our struggle. We see you, we hear you, and we stand with you. Our office will be closed on June 5th in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.
